TONY STEIN: THE INVENTIVE MARINE WHO WOULD NOT YIELD AT IWO JIMA

Upcoming information will be added here regarding the Tony Stein biography to be published by his family later this year or early 2027.

Tony's biography will detail what is known of his parent's emigration to America in the early 1900s, Tony's childhood growing up in North Dayton, Ohio, his military training and heroism, bravery, courage, and cunning ingenuity.  


USS STEIN details, a 1946 time capsule, articles from the 1940s to the modern decade, this tribute to Tony will honor his amazing life and the legacy he left behind which should never be forgotten. 

Most recently, Yale historian Bryan Rigg briefly noted Tony and his role at Iwo Jima in his 2020 book, Flamethrower: Iwo Jima Medal of Honor Recipient and U.S. Marine Woody Williams and His Controversial Award, Japan's Holocaust and the Pacific War.

However, this biography will be the first ever written to properly honor his life and his sacrifice for America.
